The elastisome® Clinical Study
In an independent clinical study, the subjects were all females between the ages of 35 and 55. The subjects were evaluated on day one for a basis. Then again at two weeks and again at four weeks. The results were amazing. elastisome® use showed significant increases in superficial and integral skin firmness (ballistometry tested), increased skin density (by ultrasound) and reduced facial lines for all subjects.
What is it?
elastisome® is a proprietary blend. elastisome® brings together an effective delivery system with two benefit proven extracts. The first extract was known and used in the old world. The second is more a modern day "discovery".
Butylene Glycol is a clear, colorless, slightly syrupy liquid. It works as a delivery system that helps enhance the effectiveness and penetration of ingredients in a formula. It also works to maintain the water that is present in skin and also adds moisturizing properties.
Hydrocotyl has a long history. It is found in parts of Asia, the western South Sea Islands, Australia and Africa. Hydrocotyl asiatica has been used as a medicine in India and China for centuries. It was used for wound healing and the treatment of skin lesions and diseases. In traditional Chinese medicine, hydrocotyl was prescribed for fractures, strains and even snakebites. By the 1880's it was introduced into Western medicine when it was accepted as a drug in France.
Coneflower, on the other hand, was first found in Texas and the western Great Plains. Allopathic medicine started using the plant in 1887. Allopathic medicine is the practice of medicine in which a disease is treated by producing a second condition that is antagonistic to the first. Basically, they used it as a stimulant to the immune system. If it stimulated the immune system, then it would help fight infections.
How is elastisome® prepared?
The entire hydrocotyl plant is extracted in order to obtain the highest level of active ingredients. This is done through a proprietary extraction process. The coneflower contains echinacosides, and the root is used because it provides the best active components. A blend of these two extracts with a delivery system is what creates a synergistic anti-aging, moisturizing ingredient.
What are the scientific benefits of hydrocotyl & coneflower?
Hydrocotyl: The first clinical studies done on hydrocotyl were during the early 1940's. They discovered that there are two compounds in hydrocotyl, asiatic acid and asiaticoside. They are both triterpine compounds. These are proven wound healers. In the 1950's they found that it substantially hastened the progress of healing. By the 1970's it was reported that it increased the strength of skin and shortened the healing period for chronic wounds. In the 1980's it was found to help prevent scars and to help in the treatment of burns. It was discovered it was through its ability to stimulate dermal fibroblasts (connective tissue forming cells) and to increase collagen synthesis.
Coneflower: In the early 1940's it was found that coneflower extracts did not effect pathogens, but instead seemed to activate tissue functions, basically connecting with the body's own healing powers. During the 1950's it was found to have strong anti-inflammatory and immune enhancing properties. This was confirmed in the 1970's with studies done on patients with various skin injuries.
Summary
elastisome® should significantly improve skin function and appearance, consistent with significant anti-aging benefits.
